The second cohort of the ATI Incubation Academy gathered recently to celebrate their completion of the program and to participate in a pitch contest to practice seeking grants.
The Los Angeles County Incubation Academy provides training, funding, and technical assistance to new and existing community-based organizations, especially those that serve underrepresented and justice-involved people.
The 26 organizations in the second cohort are part of the effort to build the capacity of service providers. This is foundational to justice reform efforts countywide and the County’s vision Care First, Jails Last.
In the second cohort:
- 100% of ATI Incubation Academy Cohort 2 participants have BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, or previously incarcerated leadership.
- 33% of Cohort 2 organizations provide housing for reentry and unhoused populations in high-needs areas defined using the Justice Equity Needs Index developed by the California Advancement Project.
- The top services organizations in Cohort 2 provide include mental health, substance use treatment, addressing co-occurring disorders and other wraparound services.
