Incubation Academy

Program Overview

Ready to Join the Academy? New applicants can apply on a rolling basis for future cohorts here.  

The JCOD Incubation Academy aims to engage and enroll Los Angeles County grassroots non-profit organizations, especially those with BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, or justice-involved leadership, that have historically been providing services to justice-involved people but have faced challenges obtaining government contracts and funding.

The program seeks to build the capacity of these organizations and equip them with the best practices in non-profit management through 15 weeks of virtual training sessions and a year of support in the form of technical assistance and peer advising.

Target Organizations:

  • Non-profit, 501(c)(3) status, and/ or faith-based organization
  • Grassroots and small CBOs (less than 50 full-time employees)
  • Diverse leadership (Black, Indigenous, People of Color, LGBTQIA+, formerly incarcerated)
  • Priority given to organizations serving the highest need areas CBOs offering a wide range of services and offer geographic diversity
Graduates from Cohorts 1- 5  Have received more than $55 million in Combined Capacity-Building and CFCI Grants.
