Firefighter Training Program
Our Mission
The Firefighter Training Program prepares participants for careers in the fire service with access to case management and supportive services.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be able to reside at the training center in Calabasas, CA
- No convictions for arson or sex crimes
Additional Requirements: Prospective applicants are advised to plan accordingly to meet the requirements below.
- Medical Clearance: Applicants will be required to provide a valid medical clearance.
- Physical Test: On the interview day, applicants must participate in a physical test consisting of a 3-mile run, pushups, planks and sit-ups.
- Drug Test: Applicants will be required to take and pass random drug tests throughout the application process and the training program.
- Health Insurance: Applicants will be asked to provide a copy of their health insurance. For assistance with applying for medical coverage, visit lacounty.gov/en/health.html
- Agent Approval: Any applicant on supervision, who is selected to participate in the program, must provide an agent approval.
