JCOD to Celebrate Graduation of First All-Female Cohort of Firefighter Training Program
CALABASAS – The Justice, Care and Opportunities Department (JCOD) will host the graduation ceremony for Cohort 2 of the Los Angeles County Training Center (LACTC) Firefighter Training Program, marking the department’s first all-female group of cadets to complete the intensive residential training.
The ceremony will honor 14 graduates who completed the program at LACTC, a renovated training facility in Calabasas. Since its launch in 2024, LACTC has served as a comprehensive training site where cadets receive hands-on training in fire service, wildland and structural firefighting, emergency medical technician (EMT) training, job readiness and career certifications. Participants also receive on-site room and board, life skills training, a monthly stipend and continuous supportive services. The program prioritizes individuals impacted by the justice care system, foster care system and veterans.
